2019 LEXUS ES: Reviews and Features

Lexus has taken it to the next level with the all new re-engineered and redesigned 2019 ES. The seventh-generation ES comes fully equipped with the latest technologies and is the first Lexus to work with Apple CarPlayTM. Every Lexus ES also features Enform Audio and the new Lexus Safety system +2.0 which includes all-speed dynamic radar cruise control, lane tracing assist, lane departure alert with steering assist and road edge detection, pre-collision system with pedestrian and bicycle detection, and auto-high beam. A new 8-speed automatic transmission replaces the 2018 six-speed, providing a smoother ride and better fuel economy—all while using regular gasoline, which the same cannot be said for its top competitors including the 2019 Lincoln MKZ and 2019 Acura TL. The 2019 ES is also more powerful than the 2018 with an increase in horsepower from 268 to 302.

You can tell just by looking at the 2019 ES that it is more exciting than ever before with its sharp exterior makeover, all while maintaining elegance. It is longer and wider, and the wheels have been pushed toward the car’s corners. The front features Bi-LED headlamps with cornering lamps while the rear encompasses sharp LED lamps that wrap around the quarter panels. The interior design is driver oriented and is more spacious for ultimate comfort. The larger heads-up display provides more information in front of drivers, so they don’t need to take their eyes off the road.

For the first time ever, F-SPORT packages of the 2019 Lexus ES are available—and ultimate game changers. Although the F-SPORT model has the same powertrain as the standard ES, it is designed for those seeking a sportier ride, with a bolder and more exciting exterior and adaptive variable suspension for a more athletic drive. It is designed with exclusive F-SPORT equipment including 18” aluminum alloy wheels, an F-SPORT front grille with satin black surround, a spoke heated steering wheel, sport seating, paddle shifters, and an aluminum interior trim. It also offers Sport S+ drive mode which alters the power train for faster gear changes, tightens the suspension to reduce body lean, and the transmission’s shift points are automatically altered coming in and out of corners for sharper acceleration.

The fourth-generation hybrid ES- the ES 300h, features a 2.5L Atkinson cycle Gasoline Engine and Electric Motor, producing 215 horsepower (an increase from the 200 horsepower in the 2018). It delivers exceptional fuel efficiency of 5.5 L/100km City and 5.2 L/100km Highway and minimal emissions. Trunk space has increased as the Metal Hydride battery has been relocated to underneath the backseat. Plus, the self-charging system never needs to be plugged in.
